This Barbera d'Alba DOC from the Vinum Vitae Est range is made from 100% Barbera grown on calcareous clay soils, hand-harvested in the first half of October. After destemming and crushing, the wine ferments on the skins at a controlled 24-26°C, completes malolactic fermentation, and rests three to four months in stainless steel before bottling.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt is an intense ruby red with purple hues. The nose is fruity and floral, with blackberry, cherry and a touch of rose, and the palate is medium-bodied with bright, refreshing acidity and excellent drinkability. At 14.5% ABV it has generous fruit and body without heaviness, and it is ready to enjoy now.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eServe at 18-20°C. Its acidity makes it a very food-friendly red, ideal with pasta dishes, tasty soups, cold cuts, mixed boiled meats and fairly fresh soft cheeses, and a natural partner for tomato-based sauces and pizza.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch4\u003eAbout the producer\u003c\/h4\u003e\u003cp\u003eTerre del Barolo is a growers' cooperative based in Castiglione Falletto, founded in 1958 by local schoolteacher and mayor Arnaldo Rivera. Today around 300 member growers farm more than 600 hectares across the eleven villages of the Barolo appellation, and every wine is made exclusively from Langhe grapes.
