Producer: Rivetto stands among the most inspiring estates in Piedmont—and for good reason. Their Barolo ‘Serralunga’ 2020 radiates the intense, structured elegance of southeast-facing Nebbiolo vines thriving in chalky soils. Expect fragrant violets and rose petals, deep plum and tar notes, anchored by mineral, herbal, minty layers and polished tannins. Rich, powerful, and never harsh. Founded in 1902, Rivetto remains family-run under fourth-generation winemaker Enrico Rivetto, who combines tradition with a forward-thinking approach to terroir. The estate transitioned to organic farming in 2009, achieved certification in 2016, and became the first Demeter-certified biodynamic winery in Barolo and Barbaresco in 2019. Perched on Lirano hill, its 35 hectares include vineyards, hazelnut groves, orchards, forests, and gardens, fostering rich biodiversity. Rivetto uses only natural treatments, homemade compost (with the help of donkeys), and aligns work with lunar cycles, showing deep respect for the land’s natural rhythms.
