Direct from Italy

Our favourite wines

We love them so much, we bring them in directly from Italy.

At DiVino, we don't just sell Italian wine – we go to Italy and choose it. Every wine on this page is imported directly by us from producers we know, in the regions we love most. No middlemen – just honest, beautifully made wines brought from the cellar door to your table in New Zealand.

Bottega winery, Veneto

Veneto

Bottega

The Bottega family have been growing vines in the hills of the Veneto since 1635, when Andrea Bottega tended vineyards near Refrontolo, in the heart of Prosecco country. In 1977 Aldo Bottega founded the family distillery, and today his son Sandro leads the company from a beautifully restored 17th-century farmhouse in Bibano di Godega, just 50 km from Venice.

Bottega is now enjoyed in more than 160 countries, but it is still very much a family business – with a passion for quality and a flair for Italian style.

Piemonte

Terre del Barolo

Founded in 1958 in Castiglione Falletto, in the very heart of the Barolo zone, Terre del Barolo is a cooperative owned by more than 300 small family growers. Together they farm vineyards across the famous villages of the Langhe.

Their grapes come together in a state-of-the-art winery where tradition meets modern precision – producing authentic Barolo, Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto made with real care.

The range we import

Vinum Vita Est – "wine is life"

Terre del Barolo's signature range, chosen because it offers exceptional quality and outstanding value for money. These wines show the true character of Piemonte's great grapes, without the price tag often attached to the region's big names.

Badia di Morrona estate, Tuscany

Tuscany

Badia di Morrona

Set in the rolling hills of Terricciola, near Pisa, Badia di Morrona is built around an ancient Benedictine abbey dating back almost a thousand years – later the summer residence of the Bishops of Volterra.

Since 1939 the estate has been owned by the Gaslini Alberti family, now into their third and fourth generations caring for its vineyards and olive groves. Their focus is Sangiovese, the great grape of Tuscany.

Trentino · Northern Italy

Rotari Metodo Classico

From the cool alpine valleys of Trentino, Rotari makes spectacular sparkling wines using the metodo classico – the same traditional method used in Champagne, with the second fermentation in the bottle.

Proof that Italy's best bubbles can rival any in the world.
