Vinum Vitae Est Langhe Arneis DOC 2025

Product Info

Arneis is Piedmont's much-loved native white, and this Langhe DOC from the Vinum Vitae Est range shows the grape at its fresh, approachable best. Made from 100% Arneis, hand-harvested in the first half of September, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented cool at 16-18°C, then rested in stainless steel to keep the wine bright and fruit-driven. There is no malolactic fermentation, so the finish stays crisp and clean.

In the glass it is pale straw yellow. The nose is delicate yet intense, with typical Arneis notes of pear, white blossom and a hint of almond, while the palate is fresh, dry and gently savoury. At 13% ABV it is made to be enjoyed young, so open it while the fruit is at its liveliest.

Serve well chilled at 8-10°C. It is a natural partner for antipasti, light pasta dishes, white meats and fish or shellfish, and equally good on its own as an aperitivo. Historically Arneis was nicknamed "white Barolo" because Langhe growers once planted it among their Nebbiolo vines, and today it is one of the Langhe's most popular whites.

About the producer

Terre del Barolo is a growers' cooperative based in Castiglione Falletto, founded in 1958 by local schoolteacher and mayor Arnaldo Rivera. Today around 300 member growers farm more than 600 hectares across the eleven villages of the Barolo appellation, and every wine is made exclusively from Langhe grapes. Vinum Vitae Est ("wine is life"), or VVE, is the cooperative's signature range.

About the region

The Langhe sits in Piedmont, in Italy's north-west, around the town of Alba. Its steep, rolling vineyard hills are home to Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto, and the area is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage wine landscape.
