Nero d’Avola—literally "Black of Avola"—is Sicily’s most iconic red grape, celebrated for its deep colour, bold fruit flavours (think black cherry and plum), and spice-tinged complexity. It thrives in warm, sun-drenched Mediterranean climates, producing full-bodied wines with velvety tannins and balanced acidity. Styles vary from juicy, fresh reds to richly oak-aged, age-worthy examples 

This wine comes from the distinctive gravelly vineyards near Mazara del Vallo—where the soil is scattered with water-worn stones known locally as “Cuti,” inspiring the wine's name—this Riserva is both complex and intense. 

Vinification

Carefully hand-picked grapes undergo destemming and ferment in stainless steel tanks at a controlled 25 °C for 15–20 days. After fermentation, malolactic conversion also occurs in stainless steel, preserving freshness while ensuring softness.
