We chose to import this Prosecco for a very simple reason: it’s one of the best we’ve tasted. There are plenty of Proseccos around, but when you find one that gets everything right, you notice the difference.

Il Vino dei Poeti, or “The Poets’ Wine”, is clean, fresh and beautifully balanced, with those fine, persistent bubbles that make it such a pleasure to drink. There’s just the right balance between acidity and sweetness, with lovely fresh notes of apple, pear and peach and a delicate floral character. It’s soft and rounded without being sweet, and finishes clean and refreshing.

Bottega is one of the larger producers we import, but that doesn’t mean compromising on quality. In fact, their ability to produce wine at scale while maintaining this level of consistency is one of the things we really appreciate about them.

Made from Glera grapes grown in the Province of Treviso in Veneto, this is a Prosecco DOC Spumante Brut that works beautifully for just about any occasion. Pour it as an aperitivo, serve it with brunch, or simply open a bottle because it’s Friday. And the 200ml bottles are particularly handy when you fancy a glass without opening a full bottle.
